I felt my soul ingest,

Five lights run through the trees.

Blue Eastern Sky,
But the horizon to the West is pure, hazy white.
A monolithic emptiness
Devoid of the pinks and the blues and the reds and the purple
Of any other sunset.
We see a circle and we ponder its circumference
While its area goes unnoticed
Invisible to any outside observer.
Maybe that band on
The electromagnetic spectrum
That we perceive as visible light
Is just the outer surface displaying itself to us

Maybe there's more to be found beyond

Blue Eastern sky,
But the horizon to the west is pure, hazy white
